The Nokia N9 is still one of the most popular mobile phones brought to market by Nokia. The phone looks very sleek much like the Lumia range of phones but it also sports many usable functions such a Dolby sound and noise reduction. All of this for around €140. The phone also goes under the name of Nokia N9-00 as well as the Nokia N9 Lankku.

The phone comes with 2G (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) as well as 3G (HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100). There is also GPRS as well as EDGE so it is well connected if you need to use multimedia while communicating or using live streams on your phone conversations. At just under 5cm the phone is handy in your pocket (116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm, 76 cc (4.59 x 2.41 x 0.48 in) and not to heavy considering what it offers. Weighing in at 135 g.
The screen on the Nokia N9 is a very capable AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. The resolution is also very good at 480 x 854 pixels and with a pixel density of ~251 ppi it makes for a good view of your menu and pictures. It is a multi touch screen and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass to protect it from scratches as well as an anti glare coating.
The operating system is the MeeGo OS, v1.2 Harmattan on a TI OMAP 3630 chipset. The OMAP (Open Multimedia Applications Platform) is a series of image/video processors developed by Texas Instruments. The mobile phone is powered by a very capable 1.0 GHz Cortex A8 CPU and a PowerVR SGX530 GPU.
The phone does not have a card slot but has more than enough space on the internal memory at 16/64 GB, 1 GB RAM. The 8 MP Carl Zeiss optics camera is also very good as it also comes with autofocus and a dual-LED flash. Standard on this type of phone is the geo-tagging, face detection as well as touch-focus. The video is also very good at 720p@30fps. There is also a very basic VGA secondary camera.
The phone has active noise cancellation with a dedicated mic which is very good. There is WiFi as well as a USB port, FM radio which they normally tend to leave out of the higher end phones. There is also A-GPS as well as Ovi Maps. There is also a sensor package which includes an accelerometer, proximity sensor as well as a compass.
With a standby time of up to 380 h (2G) and up to 450 h (3G) all at the price of around €140. The Nokia N9 offers real value for money.
